Lovely experience. The staff were really great and co-operative. Coming from Pakistan for this surgery was very nerve-racking for my family and I but the hospital staff made us feel very comfortable and catered to each of our needs very professionally. It is also pertinent to mention the amazing work done by Dr. Atilla, Ms. Jameela, Mr. Uygar, Mr. Saleem and Ms. Khadija for ensuring the process runs smoothly.

The experience we had was nothing less than exceptional. The hospital staff, the nurses, the translators and coordinators all the way up to our neurosurgeon Dr. Atilla Yilmaz, were not only professional and extremely competent but truly kind and understanding. We came here for my father’s surgery for Parkinson’s. The Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery is a highly complicated surgery, but for Dr. Yilmaz it seemed to be a walk in the park. He was assuringly confident yet understanding, explaining everything to us at every step of the way. Even after the surgery, our hospital visits were coordinated so efficiently although we were late at times, they would always cordially manage us with minimal waiting time. But more importantly, we had a huge language barrier with the locals. Initially I was skeptical, anxious and somewhat disheartened of how I’d be able to communicate with them as they don’t speak English and I don’t know a word of Turkish. This is where our translators, Miss Khadizha, Miss Jamila and Mr Selim were nothing less than a God-send. Khadizha handled everything from when we hadn’t even travelled to Turkey, the transport from the airport, the hospital stay and the hotel afterwards. She was handling several patients of Dr. Yilmaz at the same time, yet she always made time for us. In her team Miss Jamila and Mr. Selim were the ones who were always with us. And trust me when I say this, I have in all my life never seen more open hearted people. From reassuring us before the surgery to receiving us at the hospital door to being available 24/7 for any questions to coming every day to our rooms to ask if we need something and getting it delivered as well. At times I got fed up of how caring they were, haha. This was my first time in Turkey, but the compassion I have seen from these people has made me realise that more people need to know that healthcare can not only be professional but also compassionate. If you are in the same dilemma as we were before coming here, I can say this with 100% surety that there is no better option than Dr. Yilmaz here at Medicana Atasehir and his wonderful team.
