If you are reading this review, you are probably in a similar situation as my family and the many others that have been scammed by this merchant. Here is what I would suggest: 1. Recognize that these folks are professional con artists 2. Enjoy all their offerings of tea and Turkish Delight. 3. If you intend to buy anything, MAKE SURE you ask for itemized pricing and make sure they convert to USD or EUR 4. Absolutely DO NOT give them your credit card until you have confirmed & agreed to the price If you don't follow these steps, plan on a $600-$800 charge on your credit card regardless of what you purchase.

Never buy anything with a credit crd from this store. They scam everyone who uses credit cards. Not sure how they can continue to do so but they do. We purchased 3 items from them which totalled $75 cdn and they charged our credit card $606.

If you go to this store, only pay with cash!!! The tour operator from my cruise brought us to this store. I bought two boxes of Turkish delight and some eucalyptus. The candy was 3lb (6lb for the two boxes). I thought I checked the math at the register but then noticed a $380 charge on my bank statement. I checked the receipt and it checks out. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT CAREFULLY before you leave this store. Better yet, use cash or just don't shop there. It looks like many others have had the same problem and it has been happening for a while. I am also going to complain to the cruise line. The tour operator should have known about the store's reputation for this

They did the same to me as well, spend $478 more for 3 items, 250 g coffee , pomegranate tea, and Turkish delight box. Sad, you sign not knowing the exchange rate. Rate charged 19,700 lira. I questioned but should have an itemized bill they do not do that, and who checks online before the trip

I bought some spices and teas from this store. Comparatively to other shops in the bazaar, it's very expensive. However I'm leaving this review because of the poor quality. The 'relax' tea I purchased, which was sealed at the shop and now has webs inside! I decanted the 'diabetic' tea I bought at this shop into a kilner jar, and this also has webs. I'm unsure what animal is inside but will have to throw it away which is a waste of money.

Our tour guide brought us to this shop in the Egyptian Bazaar. While we could have wandered into nearby shops selling similar items, we just went with the flow and had a great time. There were plenty of free samples of Turkish sweet treats, teas, and pomegranate juice. The staff were eager to scoop out spices and teas for us to smell. We spent about $55 on nuts and a wonderful-smelling spice mixture that we'll use as a rub on meat. If you don't want to buy anything, just enjoy the show.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Do NOT buy anything in “AYFER KAUR” store! The Spice Bazaar #7. We were scammed. This is highway robbery. First convert the Turkish dollars into your currency, then make sure you check the amount they are charging on your credit card so that you don’t get ripped off. We were charged more than CAD $ 660.00 for a purchase of TRY 640.00 (CAD $ 26.00) We went "Istanbul Deluxe 1" tour trough Holland America Cruise. The tour included a visit to the Spice Market and a cruise on the Bosphorus strait. The tour operator takes you to the store "AYFER KAUR". The salesperson explains the spices, Turkish delights, nuts, etc... They offer samples and really take advantage of the fact that your tour group is waiting for you. If you go don't buy anything or you will get scammed. They are specialize in scamming tourists to this level.

HUGE SCAM! We stopped here as part of a tour. They are extremely friendly, but very pushy. They offer samples and really take advantage of the fact that your tour group is waiting for you. I kept asking how much things cost in euros, so that I could convert it to Canadian dollars, but they just asked for my credit card. All I purchased was a box of Turkish delight, a bag of tea, and a bag of crystal menthol, and it cost $445! I'm also not impressed with the tour guide who let this happen. I thought I wouldn't have the opportunity to get to another store, but it turns out they are everywhere, with a much better selection and quite a bit cheaper.
